Student Profiles

Patrick Carey

MS Predictive Analytics Computational Methods Concentration

  • Researching Deep Learning, Computer Vision, and NuPIC (Numenta Platform for Intelligent Computing) Applications

Tim Zhang

MS Predictive Analytics Computational Methods Concentration

  • Yuxuan is a recent graduate student from DePaul University with a major in Predictive Analytics. He carries out research projects in machine learning, knowledge discovery, and generative systems. His work focuses on (1) designing and developing web-based machine learning systems, (2) wrangling data and conducting descriptive, predictive and prescriptive analyses to derive insights, and (3) researching generative models and implementing proof-of-concept generative systems. His long-term mission is to bring ourselves closer to a future with infinite expressions and diversity – where data collected from ubiquitous sensor streams is analyzed to understand personal needs; where goods and commodities are designed and fabricated one-of-a-kind; where each individual’s creativity and artistic appeal is augmented with the help of machine intelligence.

Stephanie Besser

MS Predictive Analytics Computational Methods Concentration

  • Stephanie's academic interests vary across a wide range of disciplines, including Business, Criminology, Education, Humanities, Medicine, and Social Sciences.

Shobit Kishore

MS Predictive Analytics Computational Methods Concentration

  • Shobit is interested in applications of machine learning in computer vision. He is gaining experience in traditional machine learning, computer vision, AR/VR/MR and artificial intelligence as a discepline.

  • He is currently working on projects that utilize satellite imagery to drive decision making and extract knowledge and an information retrieval project that extracts structured data from very unstructured data sources

Yiyang Wang

MS Computer Science

  • Yiyang is currently a student in the Master of Computer Science Program at DePaul. His interests are mainly in data analysis, database programming and quantitative finance. In his free time, he enjoys playing piano, reading and he is a new fan of Chicago Cubs.

  • Ian is also interested in machine learning and is working on computer vision projects

Carleton Smith

MS Predictive Analytics Computational Methods Concentration

  • Carleton is a Graduate Student majoring in Predictive Analytics with a concentration in Computational Methods. Carleton is an avid Indiana Hoosiers basketball fan and enjoys running, drinking morning coffee, and walking his 7 year old puppy
